A measured setpoint, not an assumed one

At La Plomosa the scientific setpoint turned out to be 14.15 kWh/ton. That number didn't come from a manual: it came from instrumenting the mill and letting it talk.

Equipment states classified with AI

The model tells real production apart from idling, starting up and waiting. That's where the unproductive time no report was showing turns up.

The road to ESG

Coming soon: emitted gases (CO₂e) and variables aligned with the Paris Agreement, so the sustainability report comes out of the same measurement instead of a separate estimate.

How it gets switched on

Measuring consumption is easy; measuring specific energy isn't

A current meter tells you how much energy went in. Specific energy also requires knowing how much was produced in that same time window — which is why this module needs both signals synchronised, and that's precisely what the platform already does.

The install is the usual one: non-invasive sensing, 1 day per machine, without stopping the operation and with a 120 V outlet as the only physical requirement.

What people ask about energy

What is specific energy and why does it matter?

It's the kWh it costs to process each ton or each unit. It's the number that connects the operation with the P&L: a machine outside its setpoint burns money even when it 'is working'. Kinnil computes it continuously and uses AI to classify the equipment's states.

Isn't an energy meter enough?

A meter tells you how much energy went in, not how much each unit produced cost. That requires measuring consumption and output synchronised on the same machine — the difference between a data point and an actionable indicator.

Can I report CO₂e with Kinnil today?

Not yet: emitted gases and variables aligned with the Paris Agreement are in development. What is running today is specific energy, which is the base that layer will be computed on.
